Whether you’re a cocktail connoisseur or just a casual mixologist this post has all the information a drink-maker needs, from specialized strainers to jiggers.

A Shaker

First and foremost, one of the most important elements of mixology, a cocktail shaker. This is used to mixed various drink components together to create perfect mixture and is also used simultaneously to cool a mixture with ice. There are two main types of shakers: The Boston Shaker and The Cobbler Shaker. The Boston Shaker is a versatile, two piece shaker and usually a bartenders choice. Whereas,The Cobbler Shaker is a practical, three-piece shaker with a metal jug, cap and built in strainer, this is most commonly used for leisurely purposes.

A Jigger

Next on the list we have a "Jigger". A Jigger is beverage measuring tool and an essential bar accessory in mixology as consistency is key when making drinks. There are many variant of Jiggers to choose from but most common in bars in the industry are the standard dual-sided Jiggers, ranging from 1.5to 0.75 oz on either end.

A Channel Knife

Following the Shaker and the Jigger, is the Channel Knife. When crafting a cocktail foremost in my mind, after the flavours and textures is appearance. A Channel Knife is a small, spoon shaped knife used in mixology to cut citrus peelings to make garnishes for your cocktail. Design is crucial to making a cocktail appealing to the customer and a Channel Knife can help you bring your cocktail to the next level.
